Declaration for Original Invalid Pension - July 29, 1890, Cedar County, Missouri
By Henry Price, aged 44 of Speedwell, St. Clair Co., Missouri - swears he entered service on Feb 1, 1865 as a Private. in Co. M, 13th Cav. - Honorable discharge Jan 11, 1866, St. Louis, Missouri - that he was 19, 5 ft. 10 in. high, dark complexion, dark hair, grey eyes - is suffering from sunstroke - his Post Office is Tiffin, St. Clair Co.
1898 Questionnaire - answered by H. P. - his wife’s name is Sallie Van “Swearing” (VanSweraingen) - married her May 19, 1892, Eldorado Springs, Cedar County - married by Rev. W. W. Warren - License recorded at Nevada, Vernon County, Missouri - his previous wife was Lucinda E. Billings who died August 20, 1890 at Lebeck, Cedar County, Missouri.

On another declaration - (1908) - he stated he was enrolled at Warrensburg, Missouri - Honorable discharge Jan 11, 1866, Ft. Leavenworth - that he also served in Missouri State Militia, Co. K, 1st Regt. (Gives personal description - see before) - that he was born March 10, 1846, Jefferson Co., Iowa - his occupation was farmer.
Since service his residence has been Bates Co., Missouri. May 10, 1866 - moved to St. Clair Co., Missouri May 1884 - then to Vernon County, Missouri where he now lives (1908) in Schell City, but his Post Office is Triffin, Missouri.
On a questionnaire in 1915 - he stated some of same data on declarations - also that his P. O., at enlistment was Unionville, Putam Co., Missouri - married Lucinda Billings (1st marriage) in Bates Co., Missouri - married by R. A. Jeffries, record at Butler, Bates County (does how if church or official record). His present wife previously married to Robert S. Jones who died at Cedar Springs, Cedar County, Missouri, May 1906 - is now living with 2nd wife (no children by her)

In 1828, Mrs. Percy Reich swore she was his “nurse” attending him at all times (apparently). He died May 14, 1930, Schell City, Missouri - had married at Nevada, Missouri - Mrs. Lucy A. Jones in 1913 (June 4) - married by Elder Giddens, according to a statement by her - that H. P.’s former wife died July 29, 1909, and her (Lucy’s) former husband in May 1905.
In 1930, Lucy A. Price lived afterwards with her son. Elmer G. Jones, of Neosho, Missouri.
His (Henry’s) Doctor of Neosho made affidavit and wrote letter to Elmer G. Jones that he became acquainted with “Brother” Price in 1878, when he lived near the Bates and Cass Co. line. Henry held services at “our church” at Johnstown and visited him several times - that sometime in the later 80’s He (Henry) settled near Lebeck - The Doctor thought there were his wife and eight children - severe epidemic of typhoid fever in Lebeck neighborhood and his wife, oldest daughter and oldest son died within 48 hours of each other - he became discouraged with the place - went to Schell City in March 19, 1891 - during summer of 1891, rest of children had typhoid, all recovering but youngest girl - that Henry’s 2nd wife Mrs. Van Swearingin died Dec. 29. 1909.

Green Lawn Cemetery.
Henry Price is buried in the Green Lawn Cemetery near Schell City, Vernon, Missouri. To get to this cemetery proceed west from Schell City, Missouri on County Road M. This turns into County Road C. It is about one mile from Schell City on the south side of the road. The graves are numbered by section (row) beginning on the NE corner of the cemetery. Henry Price and his third wife Lucy are buried in Section (Row) 13. This is right next to the center road on the second cross road. A complete description of the cemetery can be found in the book Vernon County, Missouri Cemetery Directory 2010 This is compiled and edited by Nancy Thompson and Nedma Foreman of the Tri-County Genealogical Society of Nevada Missouri. Pleasant Grove Cemetery (now known as Meyer’s Cemetery).
A number of persons are buried at this cemetery near Rockville, Bates, Missouri. To get to this cemetery proceed east on County Road B from U. S. Highway 71 (Rich Hill) several miles, and then north on County Road P (at this point County Road B turns south towards Rockville). Go about a mile and then turn west on SE15305. The graves are numbered from 1 to 190. The right side of the cemetery is numbered first followed by the left side. Persons of interest in this cemetery are:
